Think about the last day?

Everyone plans and thinks about various stuff to be done in the future. Kids to school, buying a house, planning a holiday..etc etc. But very few think about their last day on earth. Wonder why this is so/

Hello..Hi..Whatever. Its been years since I blogged last. Why am I starting now.? Well, why shouldn't I? The ID was still active, so I thought why not. I think the blog-urge is still kinda in there. If you meet your ex-girlfriend and if she was still un-married (and if you were still un-married) wouldn't you think about it again? Come on.

Well, lots have happened in the years that passed by and so I guess the increased age factor and grey hair would result in continued blogging.

start looking

every time i wake up to a new day i feel wiser. wiser than the day before. wiser to the truths and lies of mankind. many myths are shattered everyday. and many beliefs reinforced. i get to the reasons for many a 'whys' and find answers to many a 'what's'. many a times when i don't know, the only thing i do is look forward to tomorrow. for i know in the hope of tomorrow i will start looking for answers today...and by the time tomorrow comes i will know the why and what. there is nothing that one doesn't know. not knowing is only a moment if you start looking for answers. the moment you start looking for answers the state of 'not knowing' ceases to exist. but the important thing is to start looking.

grow young

as i cross another day in my life and take one more step towards my grave, i cant help but think if iam what i want myself to be. its a drain all the time. everyday. every step. i believe that from the time we are born it is but a continuous march towards death. for me it is but a stop in between. an anecdote in a long story of which no one knows the begining nor the end. so start walking my friend. more briskly than ever. alongwith every human being. after all everyone is walking in the same direction. but some slow and some fast. but the destination remains the same.

thank God iam alive

i cant say this if iam dead. can i? iam sure lots of things happen to all of us all the time. things that make us happy, sad, horny or just plain sleazy. but not too often do we get to bump into stuff that makes you feel 'Thank God Iam alive'.
i had a brush with death just a while ago and my only fault was to try and follow the traffic rules. i assumed the color of the traffic light, if it is red, is for me to stop my car. But i eventually found out that many in my city have a different opinion. Not only did i very nearly got knocked off by a screaming truck, but i also had to face a barage of compliments in the choicest of words from the truck driver who i assume is either color blind or must have had a bad fight with his wife or if he is not married his girlfriend would have ditched him or his balls must have got entangled with his legs. Not to mention the neutral or neutered look on the people standing by including the traffic policeman.
Now iam not too sure if Iam really happy to be alive.

Sand Castle

Sands of time. Tireless waves. Shells strewn along the line
Endless footprints left and washed away
A symbol of impermanence and of eternity
A sight that makes countless hearts sway

The little boy sprinted towards the sea
His eyes gleaming and heart pounding
Mummy! he shouts, This is where I want my Castle
With pearls of laughter she just quipped, No boy it'll never stay
See those waves...they'll wash it away

The boy never heard.
The words were merely sounds, forgotten. Neglected.
His ears filled with the music of the sea
Continuous, rhythmic and dreamy.

The tiny hands ruffled through the sand
Fingers transforming into a craftsmans tool
As he saw his dream emerge out of the shore.
Oh this is so much fun!

A dainty window and a little strong door
Maybe a moat..and yes a minar!
Oops! The walls are tumbling. But more sand will help.
And now for the tunnel..the ever mysterious but eternal.

Some more sounds. Watch out for the waves..darling
His eyes widened as he saw a huge wave lash towards the shore..
Whew! it lost its fury just yards before.
The smile rushed back and stuck on his face.

Told ya mom, nothing will happen
Maybe not now dear. but do take care
With her hands weaving through the hair
Mom was away, enjoying the air

The castle was beautiful
Grains of sand shining like gems
The shells just stuck lacing the walls
If only life could see. The power of dreams

This is where I will dance
And here I shall rest
And here is where I'll play
Oh I love this place..and forever will stay!

He just lay..holding his castle
And his dreams just rocked like thoughts in a cradle
His heart was swell..and his eyes were shut
With his mind whirling..of life in his castle

Time just walked by
And the boy just lay
Not knowing the truth
And nothing to say

Moments passed
And dreams swell
A faint rumble grew
Into a deafning roar

And a sudden sight faced a wave
Big, bad, angry
Unstoppable, untimely and mean
Wish moments could freeze and time unwind

As he watched the wave grew in stature
He knew his castle was just a miniature
It happened in a wink
It wasn't there ..as if it never ever was

His vision blurred..as his eyes turned moist
It just can't be
Something so beautiful..yet never remained
If it wasn't for the wave..dreams would've stayed

He turned around baffled
Confused and angry
His mother was there
as usual with a smile

But Mom..I thought..I knew
But why ma,
The waves..took away my castle
You know I loved it

She held him close
Her steps took him away from the shore
Away from his dream
Away from impermanence

Told you son..
Castles in the sand..don't stay long
Beautiful they may seem
Against Time, never too strong.

The boy turned around, the waves still lashed
The sands still remained, the shells still strewn
It all seemed
As if it was fresh and plain as new

But the boy just knew where the castle exactly was
He ran towards the sea and his tiny hands clasped a bit of sand.
That once was his castle
That once was his dream

Slow steps now took him to his mom
With a fleeting glance every few moments
Looking back at what was once his dream
That now remains in a handful of sand.

As he walked away he knew
That he will one day have a castle as beautiful and gay.
And why he thought so, there was no clue
But will build it where it will forever stay

And in that castle there will be a tale
Spoken by the sands used on the walls
Sands of time that once was
The beautiful castle on the seashore.
